YAKINIKU,
EXPLAINED.
KNOW YOUR YAKINIKU.
What is yakiniku?
Yakiniku means “grilled meat” in Japanese. Guests select individual cuts and cook them over a tabletop grill, creating a meal that is social, interactive and enjoyed one perfect bite at a time.
What makes WakuWaku different?
WakuWaku is Singapore’s first halal yakiniku experience, bringing premium Wagyu and authentic binchōtan charcoal grilling together at 27 Bali Lane.
What charcoal does WakuWaku use?
We use binchōtan charcoal. Its strong, steady radiant heat is suited to quickly searing beautifully marbled meat while keeping the centre juicy.
Why charcoal instead of an electric grill?
Electric grills offer convenient temperature control. Binchōtan adds another dimension: rendered Wagyu fat meets glowing coals to create aroma, gentle smokiness and the flash of flame that defines WakuWaku’s tableside experience.
How should I grill thin slices of Wagyu?
Use the hot centre of the grill and cook briefly on each side. Watch the fat begin to glisten, turn once, then rest the meat for a few seconds before eating. Richly marbled cuts usually need less time than leaner ones.
What should first-time guests order?
A sharing platter is an easy introduction because it lets the table compare different cuts, textures and levels of marbling. Our team can also recommend a selection based on your group size and preferences.
Can the team help us with grilling?
Yes. Ask us about grill placement, cooking time or which cut to begin with. We want every table to enjoy its Wagyu at its best.
Do I need a reservation?
Walk-ins are welcome subject to availability, but reservations are recommended—especially for dinner, weekends and larger groups. Book through Oddle or Chope, or WhatsApp us at 8087 9858.
When is WakuWaku open?
We open daily from 12–3pm and 5–10pm at 27 Bali Lane, Singapore 189863.
